I am thinking of selling mine. Off a 94 Montauk. Any ideas on value?

Sorry, I see its a 1994 not a 1984. I paid $500 for a c.1987 wrap around seat, plus shipping. I believe the OEM manufacturer, Anderson Mfg. sells them for around $1,000.00 plus shipping.

Will that fit on late model montauks?

Sal,

DO NOT SELL IT! I cost you nothing to keep it around just in case. Also when you sell the boat down the road (you always do), it will be a nice feature to list.

If you don't want it just stick it in the garage until you sell the boat next month. The $500 or so you get will bring more on resale...especially since the check probably won't clear by the time you have sold the boat :)

Puzzling...red graphics and trailer and they slap a blue bimini on it. Better make sure you rinse the snot out of that trailer or it will look like a rusted lawn ornament by Labor day. Then again you won't own it that long anyway.

So... if I did sell it, in its B or B- condition, $600 pick up only would be a fair deal?

Yeah sounds about right. I will say that the stern seat is great if doing water sports. Gives them a good platform to sit and put on a ski or wetsuit etc so your seat does not get wet or spotter does not have to move, etc. Also before you sell...look under it to make sure where it sat did not get all buggered up and therefore you will need it to hide the worn gel.

Sal - I think the $600 is a fair price. For those who want seating in a Montauk, the seat is a valuable addition. And it makes a great place to nap, if I do say so.

Bigshot - the gelcoat where it sat is in good shape. What Sal is facing is the cleanup of screw holes from the mounting hardware. A reasonably easy project, and the reason he is looking for some gelcoat.

If somebody wanted to use the seat without installing the mounting hardware, there are a couple of options available, some of which have been demonstrated on this site.

Sal - in another week, I will not recognize the boat.

Dan... are you going to get another boat? I am honored to own your Montauk. I just got additional fuel capacity today, so there is a chance I may take this around Manhattan.

Whats the engine worth to ya?

Sal,

I am going to look at one tomorrow morning. Would have gone today, but had baseball tryouts, follow by a baseball game in another league, followed by softball practice.

I will keep you updated.

Dan
