posted 05-05-2009 04:36 PM ET (US)         My dad bought a brand new Johnson 2 1/2 horse outboard right after the war and we used that motor for all our fishing, canoeing, and sailboating. I have had the motor sitting in my garage unused for 30 years. I put oil in the cylinder the last time I ran it, but I'm sure that the piston is frozen. This motor was the first commercial offering after Johnson quit making motors for the Army. It is a green, recoil starter. I cannot find the model number or serial number. Can anyone give me any information on this motor? Is there a market for it? I'm retired and need to clean out the garage!
