A classic. 1965 16' whaler 86 yamaha 85hp power tilt/trim outboard runs strong. The exterior paint is in good shape except for over the keel, may need a little gelcoat for cosmetic appeal but it is fine for heavy use. The console isn't original. Newly replaced throttle control cables and steering cable/helm. original bow lights and cotter pin cleat, original front hatch cover. I have a custom made stainless steel bow trolling motor mount with a quick release that will hold a min kota riptide. (if you know this hull you'll understand why) when the trolling motor is detached the part in place has 2 cupholders and is a great standing platform. It has a tiger paw cut into the stainless steel. I designed it so that it could be easily removed complete if you're planning to restore it all the way to its original form. The gelcoat on the inside is cracked in a few places, again, little cosmetic stuff here and there, but it's a good sound boat with a good motor. SS prop. The trailer is in poor shape but it works, needs new lights and wheel wells. This hull takes the charleston harbor slop like a champ. You aren't going to find many like it. I love this boat but I don't just don't use it enough with 2 little kids to keep it around. |
