Saw this posted on Craigslist this morning and thought I'd pass it along. Not sure what's up with the engine but the hull appears to be in decent shape. One can never tell just looking at a picture.

sraab928- I saw that boat listed on CL as well. From the picture the looked to be in great shape. It sounded from the ad that they were quite eager to get rid of it. Did you get an indication as to what the motor leak was? For $5000, repowering it with a used outboard would have still been a deal.

I talked to the son who was selling the boat for the mother and father - They bought the boat new as a leftover in 1997 - It was a secondary boat to their larger boat - It was used primarily for bay fishing trips. He said it had about 120 hours on it. Never pulled a skier or anything like that. The kids are now grown and its just mom and dad. They pulled the boat to winterize two years ago and the father noticed a leak in the outboard. Rather than attempt to fix or see what was wring it was just parked. The son is home for the weekend and they decided they just wanted to get rid of it while he was here to deal with it.

Sounded like a great deal to me. Unfortunately I was just a few minutes too late.

I talked with the seller as well and he said the mechanic at the marina who winterized the motor said it sounded like it had a bad cylinder and would need to be rebuilt or replaced . He wasn't sure it it would even start. Still at 5K, it would be worth a repower if in good shape. Brian
