Does anyone out there in CW land need any parts for a 1998 150 HP Evinrude Ficht. I have one that came on a boat that I recently purchased and I've replaced it with another motor. The motor will crank and run fine but something is wrong with the firing after it gets warmed up.. If anyone needs anything off of this engine, just let me know..I wouldn't want to sell the motor to anyone unless they needed a really big anchor :-) However, if anyone wants the whole thing, just make me an offer.

"something is wrong with the firing"?

That doesn't sound that bad. Have you had it looked at? That could be a pretty valuable engine if it's just an electrical or fuel problem, or could be nearly worthless, if it's got a bad block or crank.

Pglein,

I don't know what it is with the firing and agree with you it doesn't sound that bad but the OMC Techs I've talked to about it don't seen to even want to work on it. It was on a Seacraft boat and I took it off and repaced it with an Ocean Pro 150. The engine looks great, cranks well, would get the boat up on plane very fast but after a few minutes of operation would begin to misfire and the warning light would come on indicating it was running hot. A very strong stream of water would be coming from the pee hole and I don't belive it was hot. Knowing the history on the 1998 Ficht, I just didn't want to fool around with it. Thanks for your reply, I wish someone who knows these engines could use it..
