For sale: a single (starboard) Z-leg for the classic Whaler Reversible Pilot Seat (RPS). This Z-leg is molded in white and came from a 1991 Montauk. The port Z-leg broke and the legs have since been replaced with a pair of new brown Z-legs.

$50

Tom, please go ahead and put me down for that leg. I just need to run by the marina tonight to make sure that the broken leg is the starboard leg.

Thank you.

OK, you got it. You do understand this is a white Z-leg, not a brown one?

Send me an email and forward some photos of it to you.

If womms does not want it, does anybody else?

I'll forward some photos of it to you...or anybody else who wants to see it.

I'm sorry, Tom, I didn't realize that Whaler made the RPS legs in any color other than brown. Unless you know of a proper way to paint the legs I will have to pass on this one. Thanks anyway.

Actually these legs are made of nylon, not plastic or?? The Krylon Fusion paint will stick like mad and look OEM if used. The old Skyway Tuff Wheels from BMX bikes are made from the same stuff. I redid a set in yellow and they look awesome. I would give it a shot personally.

If that is the case, then I'm in.

The legs are essentially fiberglass, not nylon. Both could be considered plastics. Yes, they are paintable.

Are you sure? I have seen broken legs and they look like nylon to me.

Having talked with the engineers at the manufacturer of the Z-legs, EMP, I can assure you they are not made of nylon. They're made of a 15% glass filled, chemically coupled homopolymer polypropylene.

This part is still available to the first person to send me an email saying they want it.

By the way, I am kind of curious ... How do the broken Z-legs you all referred to happen to get broken?

I've never actually had one break on me, but then, I only weigh 175 pounds ;-)
