I have 1996 48 HP SPL Johnson outboard with power tilt/trim. The tilt pump is toast, so I am looking for a rebuilt or used replacement. I would also be interested in a manual-tilt engine pivot/trnsom bracket assembly. Any leads appreciated.

I would check the marine bone yards in your area. Also E-Bay

I have that same motor and would recommend not going the manual tilt cylinder route. The manual unit is prone to problems and is not well designed in my opinion. The "flimsy" cable that operates the release valve broke one time on mine and couldn't get the motor up! You can find some used after market T&T (such as CMC) that cost new around $600 - $700. I've seen them used for $300. Last year I took the manual cylinder off and made a engine stop with a bolt and 4" trailer roller. I installed a light duty chain to keep the engine for coming up in reverse, but I hardly ever use it...it stays down fairly good on its own. This set-up works, but I would rather have the PT&T. The motor is not worth sinking another $700+ into...I'll wait till I either purchase a new motor, or buy a blown motor with the parts I need.
