Ryan: How many hours on the motor?

Unknown. I have not taken the engine to a Mercury dealer to have the hour meter module read by the diagnostic device. I have performed all routine maintenance on the engine i.e. gear oil changes, air filter, lubrication points, spark plugs, etc.

Ryan, on my Dauntless 180 with Optimax 135, the Smartcraft gauge displays the total engine hours when I first turn the key to the on position. Assuming the motor on your boat is the original motor, you should be able to check the total hours that way.

Hi K Albus,

Thanks for the reply. This is the original Optimax Saltwater 150 hp but the gauge system on this 2003 model is not the smartcraft system. I'm not sure what year your boat is, but when I purchased mine, I had the choice of either a new 2003 without the smartcraft system or a new 2004 that did have the smartcraft system.

Thanks for the message though.
