could you please weigh in on the debate. is a 17 ft. guardian worth more or less than a montauk. thanks

It depends on the condition, options, and rigging of each boat. Hard to say one is worth more than the other, without that information.

All things being equal such as year, condition and extras, I would say the guardian is worth more, it cost more new. But, some people like the yachty wood trim of an older montauk, some people like the rugged utilitarian feel of a guardian. I love my current guardian 18 and it suits my habits (I don't clean my stuff often:) ) but I do miss how pretty my '87 montauk was when it was clean and shiny.
