For Sale
1982 Boston Whaler 15ft Striper

This is a pristine Classic Whaler in it's original “from the factory” configuration. It has not been modified, painted, or cheapened in any way. I'm the 3rd owner, and all of us have stored the boat inside. I was told the previous owners did not use her in saltwater, and I can vouch that I've only used her in the freshwater California Delta and lakes. All maintenance performed by Outboard Motor Shop (Whaler dealer) in Oakland CA, marine electronics purchased and professionally installed by Johnson Hicks Marine Electronics in Santa Cruz CA. I have all the original Owners Manuals for the boat (including the BW Factory Packing List), the motor, the electronics, and the trailer as well as maintenance records and receipts. She is bright and beautiful and draws admirers wherever she is. She lacks for nothing, and the only thing you'll need to do to enjoy this proud little Whaler is launch her.

Evinrude VRO 70 HP
Model # E70ELEIE
1991 70hp VRO with 221 hrs on dash mount hour meter
Stainless Steel 3 blade propeller (undamaged)
Transom Tufner transom bracket
OMC deck mount oil tank
OMC analog Speedometer and Tachometer on console
Engine serviced by Outboard Motor Shop 2/09 with following:
Compression test (all three cylinders to spec), new plugs, clean carbs, replace water pump and impeller, install Evinrude factory update kit for cooling system, clean water passages in lower unit, run on dyno and checked temp, thermostats, vacuum, and adjusted carbs, replaced oil tank sending unit.
This engine runs great and has served without failure. She has always been cold blooded and requires a good warm up period, both before and after service which leads me to believe it's the nature of the beast.

Marine Electronics
Garmin 178C GPS with dual frequency transducer. Full featured color GPS with dual freq depth sounder and fish finder, screen can display GPS only, depth/fish only, or split screen for both, reads well in bright sun. West Coast/Northern California card installed. Mounted to console with swivel mount and quick detach connection for easy removal.
Icom Model 422 VHF (black) console mounted, DSC, TriWatch, full featured excellent performing radio.
Commander VHF antenna with stainless steel ratchet mount to starboard side railing base. This top of the line antenna provides for superior reception and transmission.
All were purchased from and professionally installed by Johnson Hicks Marine Electronics in Santa Cruz CA.
2000 Zieman Trailer
Painted enamel trailer (no rust or damage whatever), carpet like covered bunks and fender pads, Aluminium diamond plate on fender steps, Trailer Buddy axles and bearing covers, chrome wheels with tires at 95 % tread including port side frame mounted spare. Some very light scattered rusting on port side chrome wheel and spare, starboard side spotless (go figure). All lights and wiring fully functional. The trailer matches the boat and engine for cleanliness and functionality/performance.

Summary and Price
There you have it. This is a turn key Classic Whaler that has been used well, lovingly maintained, and professionally upgraded with virtually no shade tree modifications. She's fast, drives and tracks predictably, and inspires confidence. For those who know the California Delta, I've been caught out in high winds and and steep 2-3 ft chop which is vicious. She handled this with aplomb, while I was far less than happy but never felt endangered.

She is for sale for $8800.00. I can be reached at npowell14@comcast.net and via cell phone at (925) 628-0130. I do work during the day so if you call and I don't answer just leave a clear message with return contact information. More pictures are available if you email me..................Norm

NOOOOOORRRRRMMMM!

The boat looks great! As described! I love seeing whalers that have been maintained in first class condition. Good luck with her sale. Best. Jim

Just curious, but I have a 1979 Striper 15 which is a little different. I have one pedestal seat in the back with a cooler seat for the driver. I also have a pedestal seat up in the front. My question is the thwart seat you have in front of the console. I don't have one of those, but would like to. Was that seat original in your boat?

One and All,
First my apology for the Photobucket inconvenience, I thought I was posting correctly but clearly it isn't my skill set. Still, I can copy and paste into my browser to get the pic's and I believe Jim and East Bay could access them. Not elegant to be sure and if anyone has a suggestion as to how to fix I'll do it.

Jim, thanks for the compliments. I think this is one of those rare (to me) occasions where all three owners sought to keep her original and maintain and upgrade to a high standard.

EB, I'm no Whaler historian but I do believe the 15 ft model came configured several ways with the bench seating being most common. Striper models aren't all that common from what I've seen. Mine, based on the factory packing list which each boat shipped with, as well as the history from the previous owner combined with the fact that there is virtually no physical evidence (wear patterns, gel coat integrity and color, lack of patch and repair, etc) of modification is proof that she is configured as built and bought. The thwart seat has snap fasteners underneath for the original foam cushion (which I forgot to list but have) and the cushion set was on the packing list, so yes, it's factory.
