I have a friend who is going to sell his 1974 Currituck with a 1990 Yamaha in excelent condition. What should he ask?

Giving a figure without seeing images or greater detail is completely taking a shot in the dark. No to peoples' definition are the same when it comes to a subjective descriptor like "Excellent Condition." I have looked at a lot of boats people claimed were in Excellent Condition. Some were and others, well fair to poor may have better suited the condition.

If you provide more details on the over all condition as well as what equipment the vessel has we could help get you closer. Photos are a huge help.

I looked at the photos. The boat does look nice. In my opinion a Currituck is a less desirable model and the trolling motor setup may not be to everyone's liking. Also couldn't identify any electronics. The market is soft but this is the best time of year to sell. How about asking $7,000 but be prepared to accept less?

Semper gumby

The combination of a 26 year old hull, modifications for the trolling motor, marginal finish on the wood work, bottom paint and a 20 year old outboard depress the value of this boat. Montauk models are always in higher demand, and will usually command a higher price. All things considered, I think that's a $5k package at best, especially considering some of the bargains advertised lately.

I was serious with my price...Ok maybe not the $.75. Plus she better look as good in person as the pics for that price. Plenty of Montauks from the mid 80's going for under $6k.
