You will find another related thread in the forum; ....was thinking this unusual and nice boat package deserved a new topic of its own. I just put the Guardian on eBay - auction set to end next Sunday evening, April 25 unless someone hits the buy it now. Already 248+ hits!!! Mav, I have it on my watch list but I am not bidding. Just saving the listing for refrence. Honesty when selling a Whaler or other large items on eBay I have for it to be a rule of thumb that < 5% of watcher are potential bidders. Of that most will not bid if it looks like the auction will close without a bid to try and contact the seller after the auction to low ball. I honestly hope you guys are able to move this boat. I know you really want to. |

Hi Jeff - actually hate to see this boat go - I believe it to be one of (if not THE) best Whaler buy available in this size at this time. Young Maverick (my son) is selling it only because his military situation is changing. Positively STUNNING to me that those here who know what it is haven't snapped it up. Not like there are any others for sale ANYWHERE. I am VERY surprised, but then again, I saw a beautiful 27' Fountain sportfisherman offered at $18k that didn't get a bid....that boat at one time was around 6 figures. Guess the economic outlook by many is bleak, and bleaker to come, perhaps many are voting with their cash by NOT spending...looks to be a very dim view of consumer confidence for maybe some time, maybe years to come....who knows? Sure hate to see this happening. All that said, on the ebay ad, there are now 100 watchers, well over 2000 hits, and an opening bidder that has kicked off the auction at $11,000. LOTS of emails, several offers, LOTS of tire kickers. Never can tell on ebay, but it wouldn't surprise me if a bidding war began...possibly between some police or rescue depts. Thanks for writing, [The Olde] Maverick |

Wow, Outstanding close. I just watched it spike 4k in the last minute and close at 15,100. Hope you guys got a stand up high bidder. Congrats! |

The boat has been sold, and has been picked up by the new owner. I am very sad to see her go, but perhaps one day another opportunity to own such an exceptional craft will avail itself. Thanks to all of you, and especially to Jim H for the nice comments, and professional forum bandwidth, respectively. My very best - the "Olde Maverick", dad of the Top Gun seller... |

Glad to hear your sale was successfully completed and you were able to sell above your asking prices here. Somebody got a great boat at a very reasonable price. |
