In my search for my next Whaler, I have come across a "Barn Fresh" 1997 13' Dauntless. It is equiped with a 97 40hp Honda, pedestal seats,(2), sitting on a larger 17' galvanized trailer with flat tires.

I initiated contact with the owners whom are neighbors that I had not previously met. They are a retired couple no longer able to use the boat. It has not been run at all this season, and not much in recent years. They bought it several years ago for $8k

The boat does not have bottom paint, appears to be in basically good condition with mildew/dirt of the interior gel coat. Lots of leaves inside, two tanks, full boat cover, that has been resewn. Bad caulk job on screw holes in front of console where cooler had been. Broken lens on nav. starboard section of the bow light.

The battery is dead, so it would be a project to get new gas, battery, etc.

So Whaler folks, what would you offer? They are not in a position to sea trial, start engine, etc. It is kind of like a dice roll.

Jkcam- take a look at Wet Willy's 13 Dauntless posted below- This boat is in mint condition with a 2008 E TEC. I have seen her run and she's worth every penny, a steal at the price he's asking! -k

As another point of reference. I have a 1996 Dauntless 13 here with a 50hp two stroke. It is originally a Florida boat, bottom painted and on a new trailer (2009). I think somewhere around 5,000 would be a fair price for this one.
