Prefer project boat but will consider others. Any leads/links would be appreciated. As I recall, the last one like this that graced my driveway came from a lead posted here. thanks, Mav |

One of the 22' Guardians posted on houston craigslist is sitting at Angel's marine in Dickinson. The owner thought it would get good exposure at the shop. The boat is definatly a project hull. The dive door is missing on the 22'. There is a 25' Guardian with a dive door at the shop, Angel's shop made a custom aluminum replacement door for this boat, rough looking boat, but has a nice dive door. |

Mike, Paul - thanks. The Houston gray 22 with the forward console - is the dive door on it much wider than the one on ebay, or is it just the photo? Have either of you seen this boat up close? Is the 25 listed on Craigs? |

They made at least 2 different width dive doors. It is easier to pull a body into the boat thru a wide "dive door". |

Hi Lead - That's what I was thinking - the gray TX 22 looks like a w i d e one - I emailed the seller and asked for the dimension...hard to tell from the photos. The one I had here (my son's 20' Guardian) was the smaller size, and was fairly easy to lift out and stow. |

The Dive Door option was offered as either a 34" wide cutout or a 60" wide cutout. The 60" cutout was only offered on 22s and larger. |

Tom - is the TX 22 a 60" door? I can't tell from the photos but it looks bigger than the one on ebay. |

Hi, the "dive doors" were offered in 34",45" and 60" widths. Some had chafe plate sills and others did not,all customer order specified. |

The 45" cutout was only offered after 2001. These two boats could only have the 34" or 60" cutout. The chafe guard, boarding ladder and the actual door (plug) itself were separate options. |

The dive door on the Houston 22' is 72" wide, I measured it today. I also took a lot of pictures, if I could just figure out what to do with them. Maverick, I could email them to you a few at a time. |

6 feet? That would be one heck of a door to lift out....sure wish it was the smaller, more manageable one. I sent you an email, Paul.....thanks. I take it from the ad that the door was MIA. |

Hey gang, I guess a few of you reached out to my buddy Peter. He called me today. I found some pics I took of his guardian a few years ago when I was visiting him at the Jersey Shore. He said he was taking a ride down the shore to take some additional pics. He took my idea of the rear rod rack one step further and added a fold down transom seat. Wish I had thought of that one. He was going to post some new pics next week but these should do until then. He had repowered last year with a 300 eTec. He is selling the boat with the 235 Johnson FICT since he figured not many folks would be interested in spending the money on the 300. He is willing to sell it with the etec, but the price will be much higher. Hope a CW picks up this Gem http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/jmorgan40/Peter%20Hs-Guardian/ |

Question: On the ebay red stripe 22, look carefully at the pics of the keelguard....it looks like there is some kind of plate or something in that area of both sides, under the black bottom paint. What is that? |

I made the same mistake. It's just a water drip that weeped out of the drain tube and down to the keel. |

Not me...I am still looking. First, thanks to all for the many "22" leads to date. Got pointed to a couple really tempting 22 deals in Houston, but not my first choice because each has the large, 5' dive door - too big for me, I want the smaller size door. I hope to find a structurally good 22 OR 20' Guardian with dive door. I don't mind a fixer upper, as I plan to gut whatever I buy and replace/restore/repower new anyway. FYI - I also found a very inexpensive 18' Guardian ($1500) with no dive door, and have considered buying it and cutting a door in it,,,,yes, I know, that's a different discussion/topic than here, and it is unlikely I'll pursue that; obviously it's better to find the factory installed door, and I am patient. Thanks again to the many folks that replied to me here and via email - I'm still looking and hopeful that in the coming winter months, the right boat will avail itself. Maverick

Hi all - Anyone seen any new leads on a 22 (or a 20) with dive door? Guess I should've bought that 22 fire boat that was on eBay over Thanksgiving. That said, I'm still looking, and thought I'd poll the experts again to see if there were at new leads or suggestions. Thanks, mav |
