Located in Midcoast Maine (Bremen 04551) Has been here all its life. I am looking to get something bigger; namely a Conquest 235. I would repower. But, incidentally, this ia a great boat that has been there for me. Will be hard to sell but I really want to cruise a bit. Thanks!! Will answer all questions. John Marsh 207-529-2132

It's tough to say. Condition is key and seeing photos would help to get a good feeling of that. Most on the market that seem to be solid boats that need some TLC clean up on the Market right now are ranging in the $4500 - $6500 area with older motors and trailers.

Is that a Banana hull? If so with a good trailer should fetch $8-14k depending on condition.

You guys are all so fantastic. I so much appreciatr your thoughtful and informative replies. Thanks so much. The boat is a banana 1980 Outrage 21.6. It needs a good polish and cosmetic stuff; ie varnish wax decals (which I have ((OEM)). The canvas is 3 years old. The battery is brand new; all electric stuff is great; Garmin GPS Humminbird Fishfinder, VHF, safety gear, etc. The boat is a sweetie pie and faithful companion as we all know a good whaler is. There is no trailer as the boat has never left this locale. If sold I would contribute to logistics. I have some pics and will figure out where they are and make them available. I was thinking around $10,000-11,000 but haven't really thought that much about it. Engine is 2003 Yamaha 150 HPDI with 158 hrs. Great dependable outboard. Anyway, thanks and let me know any questions!! John Marsh Bremen Maine (207) 529-2132

Banana or dump truck?

Everything from 1973 on is a banana, and it's 21'4".

A dump truck *is* a banana, just an early one.

Nick is correct, the LOA is 21'-4" whether rib side or smooth side.

Boe_marsh,

Just a question to clarify, did you mean to say your looking for a 235 Conquest that you can repower [what I think you mean to say] or your looking for a 235 Conquest and you feel your 21 should be repowered?

Hi...I am looking for a Conquest 235 (or 255) I can re-power. Thanks. I am looking for pics now but the boat is shrink-wrapped right now.

Hey Nick - Sell your boat into the Hong Kong market!

In the current edition of "Soundings Trade Only" which just arrived on my desk this morning, there is an article about US boatbuilders selling into the Asian markets, since now both US and Europe are dead. A photo shows a brand new Hinckley Talaria being slung off shipboard into the water, and also just unloaded at this dock in front of the Hinckley, is a 70's Revenge 19 with Merc V-6 engine. It looks just like your boat! It seems like nice old Whalers command high prices from overseas buyers.

I think you're selling your boat too cheap. What's the trailer worth, and what's the engine worth? Maybe 5K together, leaving the boat valued at only 5K? A giveaway!
