Steve,

Congratulations on the sale. It wasn't on the market for long. Did it sell locally or to someone on the wave?

As a 190 Montauk owner I'm very curious about your experience. Mine is not for sale, yet, but you never know what's going to happen once you are in your seventies.

Because of all the scams out there (bad checks, people just wanting a boat ride etc.) we gave the boat to James Shopovick at MarineMax in Stuart, FL. (he only had the boat for a few weeks). Smartest move we ever did!

He got us more than we expected, the buyer was local (from Florida) the deal went smoothly for us... James called said he had a buyer, the buyer wired the funds to him, he wired the funds to us, no fuss, no muss, no bother.

Thank You,
Steve

That's very interesting.

Prior to selling my Dauntless I approached the local MarineMax dealer in Gulf Shores about a consignment arrangement. They would have been willing to handle it for 25% of the selling price.

I had to pass on that terrific deal.

They sold our boat for 10%, I believe that is the standard commission for a brokerage boat.
