Just removed from a friends 13 and temporarily hanging on my 15 conversion on jack plate. Boat and engine located in Bluffton, SC between Savannah, Ga. and Hilton Head Island, SC. Original owner with less than 250 hours, all salt water and trailered. Includes crummy looking aluminum prop, binnacle, engine harness, throttle and shift cables, and battery cables.

Engine runs, pumps water, manual throttle, electric choke/enrichener, and manual kill switch all working. With a fuel tank and battery can run engine but cannot river test because project 15 is stripped.

Trim and Tilt unit poor looking shape and piston is minimally leaking, but system does work. Willing to replace for about $250, willing to replace water pump, and run a compression test. Appears to be a single carb feeding two cylinders. Engine is clean. I will degrease and polish outboard and anticipate a clean looking motor. Or sell as is. It is a Tracker Mercury, 2.00 to 1 ratio lower and has remote oil tank inside engine cowling. All in all, nice replacement for a 13. 2003 40 ELPT. Whats it worth?

Thanks. zotcha.

In that shape, lucky to get $700 to a grand I think. If it was really nice probably close to $2k.

Any interest in a low hour running two stroke forty? Nice engine. Can assist with delivery to Fla in January. Headed to Daytona Beach then over to Spring Hill. Thanks. zotcha.

OK, Update. I have a potential buyer for the Mercury. After completing a compression check of both cylinders, I have a strong 130 psi in each. Planned to shoot some carb cleaner to the single carburetor, but was unable to without removing remote oil tank. Fired engine off with original, but looked new plugs. Electric choke audibly activating, and she fired right over. A little stubborn cold starting but a little coercing with manual throttle and was able to run at slightly higher idle until she warmed up some. Brought down to an idle and ran fresh fuel through engine for 20 minutes. Water pump is fine. Same temperature from tell tale as through prop hub. Shut down and fired up like a Mercury usually does. Trim and Tilt working fine both at binnacle and at remote on starboard side of cowling. Other than degreasing engine as buyer may want to see for himself, did not have time to wash and wax but this is one clean, low hours (all salt water), strong running outboard. Yes it is 10 years old. I'm thinking that $1250 would be a fair price for everything but a steering cable. Any thoughts? Thanks. zotcha.
