Last night I drove by a neighbor a couple of houses down and he had an old BW sitting in front for sale. he is not familiar with the boat as it was his great aunt's and he is selling it for here. The boat looks like a Montauk he says 1973 17' but that's all he knows. $1,500.00 OBO (I think with cash you can get it for less.
here is the scoop.
Repainted trailer with new wheels and tires (looks very good)
Boat is bare with inside mounted side rails and bow rail.
STENCIL NO 3A0973
Has been sitting out side here in SW Michigan it seems.
Top of transom shows fiberglass edging and seems to have elt some water in but still feels solid.
Oxidized gelcoat but you can make it nice no major cracks on outside but some spider cracks on the blue inside.
No console all in the boat is the steering case and cable with special transom steering mount.
If anybody is interested in this classic I took some pics with my phone and I'll be happy to email interested parties contact info and some pics. my email ej@wilsonbrinker.com

JBC I don't know which model, use the stencil number if you're interested that's why i mentioned the number. I'm not familiar with old whalers as I have a 2008 which tells you in the number what size it is.
I just posted this as some of the members here are into OLD Whalers and maybe had an interest or use for it.
I've seen to many old boats bastardized or ruined/thrown-away in my life to not make fellow enthusiasts aware of a possibility.
