I suspect the tach for my Yamaha 70 (on a 15" supersport)went bad from the privious owner. Any testing suggestions - so far no responses with apparently good external wiring.

Typically these are driven from an output signal from the battery charging generator. If your wiring is sound and your generator is functioning normally it's probably the tach. Most dealers are equipped to test these. Don

I might have a new tach, reasonably priced/cheap....is there a number, there were several styles.

I can check for a number...meantime, its the Yamaha digital tach w/tilt indicator, oil warning light and overheat warning light.

No indicated numbers - just the Yamaha multifunction digital tach. Anybody got a used one...?
