NEED TO REPLACE THE WIRE FROM STERN TO BOW LIGHTS ON 1969, 16'7" EASTPORT. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW OR WHERE WIRE IS RUN IN THE HULL?

Hunt around this forum, as there is previous info on this subject.

Saw previous info. Wondered if anyone had any details as to how wire was routed and how to run new wire to bow light.

I thought it ran behind the rubrail. Not sure though.

The original wire is molded in the hull. BW put three wires in so you would have a spare. If you do not have any two working you will have to rewire with the new wire hiding under the insert in the rub rail. You will have to drill a small hole in the bow to get the wire to the light, also a small hole on the port aft side to get the wire inside the rubrail insert. Hardest part is putting the insert back in the grooves. Hope this helps, Zack

If you do not have an upgraded 2 piece rubrail on the boat, the only other alternative (as recommended by Whaler) is to run the wire under the gunnel lip, using tape or something to keep it in place. It won't show, but it sure is a good reason to do the rail upgrade. That's what I did on my Nauset, shown in the reference section.
