Need some help, just picked up a 69 13ft whaler, that was on the trailer wrong, suppported by the bunks and not the keel. One of the bunks cracked the hull, about 10 inches long, not a stress crack, but an actual break. Seems the bunk went right thru the hull. Dont believe it to be water soaked as it wasnt used much. Can I grind the area smoothe and do a fiberglass repair myself? Thanks, Shawn

Sounds to me like possibly the trailer support for the bunk may have at one time, made this crack or possibly been done in the water on some rocks. If you live near a marina that has a fiberglass dept., you might ask them what they would charge to run a moisture meter over the area to make sure the area is dry before any repairs are made. If the area is`nt missing a great deal of foam,a product called Ad-Tec could be used to fill the crack, sanded smooth, and gelcoat sprayed on with a Pre-vail spray bottle.Hope this helps you.
