Am I going blind, or is the Montauk "White Water" on the newest cetacea page a solid transom??? I've never seen this set-up. Is it custom or factory?

It's not a solid transom...

If you look real, real close, you can see the beginning of the splash well along the port side.

The angle that I took the shot really hides it though. Good eyes!

That was the first one that my wife and I had purchased. When we had the custom shelter canvas made, we used the Mills' clips. Looked great.

We spent the first night up at Tobemory, awaiting the 7AM Saturday ferry. Noticed that there were a "few" flying thingies buzzing around us under the canvas. They called in reinforcments. We saw that they were crawling up under the gunnel, past the clips and swarming around us.

The inside of the canvas looked like someone had a seizure holding an open catsup bottle....

What to do.... We ended up buying some cheezecloth at Little Current, tore it into long strips and placed the strips in a plastic bag that we then sprayed Off into. Just before sunset, we take the strips and stuff them along the perimeter of the canvas. Worked great. In fact, we still use them.

Best - Don
