I just got a stern seat for my Montauk lastnight.I purchased the seat from a friend in FL. However; I am alittle confused as to how the seat mounts in the boat. It has actual hardware mounted to the seat, but what mounts to the boat? Can anyone help with this, maybe tell me where I need to go to see a pic of a seat mounted.

Tim, Good post. I am waiting on the reply too as I would like to buy or make a stern seat for my Montauk. I have the idea of trying to mount twin batteries under this thwart seat. If anyone out there wants to sell their Montauk stern seat or has great ideas on how to fabricate one please let me know. Rex

Thanks! I think I am going to enjoy the seat. I know my wife is.

My Montauk came with this seat. It is a simple rig; the hardware is mounted on the gunwales...the seat just slips right in and screws down. I will say though...if you like to fish, or pack the camping gear in, the seat is a problem. I have also been told by my passengers that it is wet and noisy. Most of the time, my seat stays in the garage.
A pricey option that seems to me to be not very functional.(at least for ocean use)
