I'm still fishin for some scrap rub rail base. I need 2 pieces of white base sortof L-shaped 21/4 inches wide and about 24" long each. If anybody recently replaced theirs and has some left over I would like a chunk. I plan to splice in the rear corner so I don't have to replace the whole thing. Thanks for any help. Speakin' of rub rails, has anyone come up with a method/chemicals to clean up these confounded things. I've tried everything. I'm looking for something that will clean 15 years of yellowing, salt, sun and even a little left over varnish from the first owner. Any hints, pleae advise. |

The rub rails on eBay are grey, if I remember correctly. What models and years were built with this RR? |

try soft scrub with lemon, it's like a really mild bleach and will work if the rail isn't too bad. Works for me. --Dennis |

I assume you're referring to the receiver section, rather than the black insert. When the insert gets ratty looking, just replace it. I have had good luck with the receiver by wet sanding it with #600 or 1000 grit, then polishing it back up. |

I checked e-bay and it is gray and appears to be one piece. Mine is 2 piece with off white base and black insert 2-1/4" wide. May have to go to Barbour Plastics for a new one. I've spent money all winter on this boat. What's momma gonna say now? Ray |
