Hi
I have a 70 17' Montauk. No gas is getting to the motor. If I have to replace the gas tank, anyone have any ideas how to dismantle the console, OR, any other ideas?

Borrow a different tank, same brand of
motor, and move the quick release over
to the borrowed tank. See if you get gas.

Could be:

- No gas in tank (dumb question, but needed
to be asked).

- Clogged pickup on tank (check by removing
the gas cap).

- Plugged vent on tank

- Bad quick disconnect. Could be either an
air leak or the QD not opening.

- Bad primer bulb

- Bad fuel filter(s)

- Bad fuel pump

Put the boat in a WELL ventilated area away
from any open flames or smokers.
Pull the fuel filter at the motor. Wrap a
rag around it. Pump the bulb. Do you get
gas? If yes, it's not the filter, not the
fuel pump. Make sure what you get is GAS,
not water.

Chuck.
