I went fishing with a friend who brought a trolling motor. The battery got knocked off the fore deck and the corner put a hole in the floor in my 89 15 sport. Recomendations for repair material would be appreciated.
thanks

West Marine 105 - 205 with 410 microlight filler(if your deck color is tan).
mix to a consistancy of runny peanut butter, and add cut-up fiberglass pieces until it's like clay, and fill the hole. the fiberglass helps to make a very strong patch.

Boston Whaler used to furnish a very specific set of instruction sheets with their hull patch kit on how to repair Whaler damage of all types, minor or major. And it is not the same process or techniques as most of the information I have seen here referencing use of West's products. Most people do not even know this information from BW exists.

It would be valuable to have this available on this site. I will send a copy to JimH.

I was studying old posts so that when I barrage this place with questions in a month I won't be guilty of not doing my homework...

Found this old post, and then searched the site for the repair sheets and instructions. Did you ever receive it Jim? Is it the same one you used for that great fiberglass repair article? Regardless, would it be possible for us to get it into the reference section?

Wally,

Jim has the Whaler Repair Instructions. I think they will be added to the reference section very shortly and maybe linked to from Taylor's repair article.

Thanks Tom. I'll keep an eye out for it. Would be a bonus for CWave.

Minor detail, it's called West System, not West Marine. You can buy it at West Marine but you can also buy it for the same price at any decent marine store and some hardware stores.

Whale on!
