I am about to begin building a wooden center console for my 1964 nauset. Can anyone tell me the original height and width of the console? Any information would be appreciated. Andre.

Original width of the upper portion was 36 1/4" and height ranged to 29", depending on the base.

The lower section is snug to the top and thus 35 1/8" wide. Height appeared to vary in several revisions.

Check that: height is 31.5"

Lower unit is appx 15" H. Upper Unit is 18.25". The two "nest" together to hit the 31.5".

I noticed a post on 3-5 where as someone has plans to build a mahogony console for that range of models. Kinda hard to read though.. My '63 had its console replaced before I bought her with a fiberglass unit.. lost the character but the function is good.. Nu

I obtained a copy of the original factory drawings for the Nauset console from Jim Knight of Classic Whaler News a few years back. His operation may be defunct as it has disappeared off the web. The drawings were good enough to make a "to spec" console.

Is there any way you can share those drawings?
