Anyone out there who has an old style bow rail? I need the length for the vertical supports, which I am replacing. The nearest I can guess from the condition of bent and broken tubing on mine is 21" in front and 27" on the side uprights. I called CMI Marine who will sell me the bow rail parts, but will not give me any dimensions.

I have a 74 Katama with the same rail (I think it is the same). If I can get through the snow this afternoon, I'll measure them for you and post. --Dennis |

Thanks for the help, my boat survived a 70 mph storm on Saginaw Bay, MI. Although, the only thing left intact was the hull, which also needed repairs, but the rails, console, seats and the original bearcat 55 HP motor were a total loss. - John |

John - Sorry to hear about the loss. When did it happen? And, are you planning on restoring to origional, or update the console and seating.? Don |

The storm that flipped the whaler was summer 1997. I had the hull repaired professionally this winter, and just purchased a Johnson 50 HP motor. I have a Todd fiberglass console at the moment that I plan on replacing with a remade mahogony original design. The seat I had made by a craftsman using some of the old wood recovered after the accident. This web site has been very helpful. - John |
