Just bought a 9' tender. (Have been searching for a used one for years.)

1. How do I tell the year my boat was mfg?

2. Where might I find an owners manual?

3. There appears to have been a light seated in the bow. Where might I find a replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Call Whaler customer service with the serial number and they can tell you the year, also request a manual they still might have it or a Xerox. The light was never standard so either special order or someone installed an after market one -- it is rated for 5hp and 600 lbs swamped cap. -- Good luck with her --- we have a Squall

I have the owners manual which covers 9ft to 17ft Whalers. I would be happy to mail you a copy of it. Send me an email to give your address. Rex

Hi dvhartley1,
Just wanted to let you know that I had a 9' when I was in High School. I started with a 7.5 Hp Honda, then put a new cam in the engine to make it a 10.0 Hp Honda. Finally when the need for speed called I put a Merc 25 on it, what a rocket!
Great boat, enjoy.

Damn! I wish you hadn't post that. How did you set it up? Whalerdrive?

Hi Orca,
I just mounted the Merc 25 on the transom in the normal fashion. I would NOT recomend this much power on a 9' as it is not safe!
