Wow!!!! I just compounded, polished, and waxed my 87 18 outrage and it works great! I followed LHG's directions and the shine is unbelievable! Thanks! IT'S LIKE GETTING A NEW BOAT!

Hi George,

I am a little skeptical of your results. Could you please come over and perform the technique on my 20-Revenge. This afternoon would be fine.

Then I would believe you

:-)

Can you point me to LGH's suggestions?

Thanks

George - mine is still down down there getting baked and bleached out in that FL sun. How much do you charge for a touch up!! Seriously, glad it came out well. I'll be anxious to see it. But I can't take the credit. I just used BW's recommendations.
I think the 3M Finesse-it II microfinishing compound is an important step before the Collinite Boat wax.

Hey LHG I'm thinking of buying a 25' outrage how do they ride? You are right about the finesse it-II it was what realy did the trick.

Do you guys recommend Finesse-it II followed by polish, and then wax? Or is it just Finesse-it II followed by wax? If polish, what type or brand do you recommend? Thanks

Scalzo

See "Detailing" thread below, last dated 04-05-01. Pure boat wax, such as Collinite's directly follows the Finesse-it II. I have tried a lot of waxes, and I think the Collinite' Boat Wax (not Fleetwax) is THE best, period! It has no cleaning or polishing agent in it, however.

See http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000063.html for the thread on "Detailing".

Larry: Where do you buy your Collinite polish? It did not seem to be in the West catalog. Thanks, in advance.

Bob: The product is Collinite No. 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax. Shoreway Marine sells it (item #21232) for $13.95 800-443-5408

I have also bought it at Boat US.

Any boat yard detail guy that knows his stuff will use this product. It's that good. It's almost pure Carnauba wax. Sold in pint bottles, but it goes a long way.
