I have looked in the previous years worth of postings in search of some information on repairs to the original lighting system on my 66 sport. The bow wiring is in borderline with the aft wiring just a little better. Is there any way to run new wire thru the existing passages or do I have to put new wiring via the outside of the fiberglass. I am need of installing navigational lights soon due to crabbing season getting underway. Thanks for any and all help. Marcos

There is only one satisfactory way to run new wiring to the bow of your boat, and that is via the rub rail insert of a new Barbour rub rail which you will have to purchase and install. There is no way to run new wire within the hull itself. Whaler did, however, run one extra wire to the bow of the old boats to be used as a spare but, as I'm sure you've found out already, this extra wire is subject to the same deterioration from age and corrosion as the others so it is not much use when the time comes.
