Have any menbers ever built or seen a combination rear navigation light and PA horn mount setup. I want to go to a 360 degree stern navigation light and eliminate the navigation light pole that is currently located in the console of my 22 Outrage. At the same time I want to set up a PA horn that is hooked up to a new Standard Horizon VHF radio with PA and fog horn warnings. I would like to use the existing stern light block as the base point for installation. Thanks Eagleman

The stern light pole seems like an odd place for a PA horn but what the hell, why not.

I built a new stern light for my Outrage by finding a piece of stainless steel tubing (ornamental, i.e. thin wall & polished) the same diameter as the existing stern light. You need only notch the bottom lip of the tubing to fit over the indexing pin in the base and drill a hole for the wire grommet to snap into. I used an all around (360) white light very similar to the 135 stern light that was standard equipment.

I imagine you would clamp your PA horn to the tubing below the light and feed the wiring for it inside the tubing just like the light wiring.

I suggest you make the stern light pole as long as possible and still be able to stow it in the under gunwale rod racks.
