I have my father's mid 60's 16 or 17 foot whaler, hull # 3A0576. It is down to the hull, and I have I think a lot of the parts, but I don't know where to put them. I've had a sail boat before but am new to resoration. I would greately appreciate any pictures/tech. data to help me with this project. I also have the originsl motor: Homelite Fisher-Pierce 55 with manual. Thanks.

If you contact Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler in Edgewater, he may be able to look up your hull number and determine the model, if you can't deduce it yourself from the appearance of the boat and its interior.

In the REFERENCE section ( http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/16-17/models.html ) there are photographs and descriptions of practically all the models from the era you mention. These should give you a guide.

FWIW - I have #3A0941 and it was ID'ed as a 69 Nauset, produced on 18/6/69.
