I am repairing a 68 Naucet and have patched all the gel coat chips. Everything looks great except the outside stern which is worn in a few places so the gel coat is not white.
I am thinking of spraying a new coat on the stern. I am wondering about spraying gel coat on the stern only. What is the best sprayer to use, is there a cheap solution and how do you clean it up. Free advice appreciated.

I am about to do the same thing to my '70 13' sport. I have seen other paint their boat with a compressed air paint sprayer, and was very impressed with the results. Make sure before you begin that the paint is diluted properly, the surface is clean smooth and dry. To answer your question: any paint sprayer should work, just follow the paint manufacturer's instructions. If you want a factory finish, 18-20 mils, its going to require about 6 coats.
