I have a 2000 Montauk and wanted to add a battery switch, probably the small Blue Sea Systems switch. Any good place to put it inside the CC? First I thought the floor of the console, but I'm not sure that's high enough. Wouldn't want it flooded when power was needed most...

I have a 98 Montauk and I placed my battery switch inside the console on the right side
(looking towards the bow). This way I have access to the switch when I open the front
hatch. You will have to drill a couple of holes through the console and use SS oval hardware (no face so it looks good on the outside). Good luck, Fred

Jeff -

Another way to mount it is to take a circular (assuming your peferred switch is circular) piece of wood, about 1" larger in diameter (3/4" plywood will work fine) and coat it with epoxy, and let dry.

Mix up more epoxy, and glue it to the inside of the console. First scuff up the area where your going to mount it. You'll also have to figure out how to brace or clamp it until it drys.

This way, no screw holes....

Jeff, I got a piece of 3/4" plywood about 10" x 10" and glassed it in on the inside fwd part of the console. Then I painted it with Interlux Brightside. This allowed me to mount the battery switch and battery charger there without drilling holes through the console + it keeps this gear high and dry. Rex
