I recently purchased a 1976 Newport in need of the Bow windshield. Does anyone have a source I can contact?
Thanks,

Try your whaler dealer. whaler still can get the wind shields with or with our holes drilled in them.

The 16 Newport was produced 1974-1975
The 17 Newport from 1976-1990

Just checked the brochures. 74 was still a Katama, 75 was a newport, sorry!

The Whaler history I recieved as a dealer shows the Katama built 1968-1975 and the Newport built as I previously posted.
This history was published in 1997 by Boston Whaler and distributed to all dealers.

Just went out and looked at my 76 Newport. Bow windshield says "Taylor Made #146301"
Console windshield says "Taylor Made #140658"
Hope this helps.

The phone number I have for Taylor Windshields is 1-800-341-0778.

Nelson A. Taylor Co.
92 South Blvd.
Gloversville, NY. 12078
FAX 518-773-7914

As long as I used to have to wait on hold as a dealer you may want to use the fax.

I don't think they still have them available, but it's worth a try.

Dunno Dick! My 74 catalog had the katama in it, no newport and in 75 they had the newport 16 and no Katama.

Thought to update you, I talked with Taylor Windhsields 1-800-341-0778 and they stated their plexiglass products for BW only go back to 1988...and so it goes.

same windshield. They made newports until 1989 or 90. Are the #'2 the same? try them again and make sure because as far as I know, they are the same from 75-90 on the shields.

augusto-Don't get discouraged yet, but i am glad i have a montauk now(wanted a newport). Try these two places. www.boatplastic.com. they can make you one if you have the old oone, even if in pieces. 2) Ocean Dynamics- they specialize in obsolete windshields, Taylor-made gave me their # cause they no longer make your windshield. 305-770-1800 ask for Ron. Good Luck, keep me posted.
