I recently purchased a 1962 whaler in need of help that came with a 1989 longshaft 25 hp evinrude. I trying to jack that motor up high enough and i am looking at t&h's mini jacker. I was wondering if anyone has done that and what kind of success has come from it.
thanks,
mike

How bad is the boat? Is the transom ok with no or minimal stress cracks? These older 13's were prone to transom problems and the stress of the LS on a SS transom could have done some damage.

The transom appears to be solid. The previous owner build an alluminum plate the stretched the entire length of the transom which i yanked off because it looked rediculous and i felt that it it wasn't a proper mount for that motor. I just want to make sure that the motor is secure because i have the tendancy to run small boats very hard out of my small boats.
