I recently had a speed and temp transducer installed on my Montauk. While at the dealer they took the liberty to install "new plugs" that wouldn't interfer with my Lowrance x65, something about vhf interference. Is there a topic that addressed this issue in the past or was I hosed? I noticed a loss in top end with the new plugs. Also I am currently having problems with my stern light. I pop the fuse everytime I turn the light on. Could the light be too much for my boat? The light was new and included it with my pre-owned '95 Montauk. Help!

What motor do you have?

Take the bulb out of the stern light. Turn
on the stern light. If it pops the fuse,
you don't have a bulb problem. Is it a fuse,
or circuitbreaker? '97s have CBs, and the
lighting circuit is 10A, and it would take a
heck of a light to use 10A. I suspect a
short in the wiring.

I am running a 1995 Merc 90. The dealer checked the wireing up to the light (I forgot to bring the light along) They said wiring looked ok. It is the circuit breaker above the toggle switch. I will try to remove the bulb tonight and give it a try. The breaker doesn't pop right away. I can run sometime 5 minutes before it pops.
