My old shift and throttle cables for the 90 HP Evinrude on my 18' Outrage are shot. Any tips/tricks to replacing them?

Thanks.

Tie something to your old cables and pull them through the tunnel. Take them to the store or get the lenght off of the casing and install with the string or wire that was tied to your old ones and left in the tunnel. It will be easier to remove the controls than to lay in the console undoing them(only 4 screws).
As far as set up, use the old cables as a guide to where they were adjusted. Mark them or take a pic so you will not have to work from scratch.

Do as BS says but also remove all the fasteners that hold your console to the hull then tilt the console forward, laying it flat. This is always the way to fish cables into the console. Don't torture yourself trying to fish them up with the console in place.

Thanks! I'll proceed as suggested.

I agree with you Tom. Had to tilt my 15 CC. The 17 I did not and it was easy. Maybe due to the fact I did the steering cable too.
