Does anyone make a flag pole that fits into the stern lighting assembly? I rarely run at night and I don't want to install the pole mounting hardware. Also the rail mounts look pretty cheap. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I assume you're talking about a Montauk or similar small Whaler? Do as many others have done and attach your flag to the stern light.

I used to put my dive flag there. I used a
piece of aluminum tubing the same diameter as
the light mast (3/4"?). I found a plastic
furnature part that would plug the bottom so
it wouldn't scratch the gel coat.

Thank you for the QUICK responces. My light pole is so dang tall that it becomes a nuisance when fishing. Is 3/4" standard for a light pole? I found a few aluminum flag poles from West Marine that are 3/4". Maybe I will give that a try.

7/8" is the diameter you're looking for. Stainless or aluminum tubing in this diameter is readily available.
