I have a 17 foot Whaler Standard with 2 bench seats made out of "Starboard". Thinking installing 2 or 4 cushioned seats to take some of the bump out of the ride.. anyone with experience with a good quality (read: won't rot) swivel seat that looks good in a Whaler. Would prefer to mount to Starboard material rather than tearing it out and going with (short) pedastels.. unless someone has a better idea.

Thanks gang.. GREAT forum!

Pedastals will rip out of the floor. You have to find a good seat that mounts to the twarts.

On my 17' Standard I installed 4 Garelick padded seats, put 3 on swivels and one (fwd of console) fixed. Used SS fasteners, bolted swivel assy. through plank seat, then bolted seats to swivels. Just be careful to avoid the tubular stiffeners that run athwartship under the plank seat. Worked out great.
