I just bought a 11' SS (1986) and am looking for instructions to go along with the parts on installing stern light on starboard rear quarter at wire hole. Does it mount on the flat near the battery or on the side panel near the wire access hole?
I installed a new Honda 4 stroke 15HP w/remote and it woks like a dream! My wife and I love the boat and it makes a perfect tender!

I have a '96 and the mount is about 6'' or so behind the wiring hole on the side.
However , I have the wood locating diagram for the SS and it shows the wood for the stern light a few inches behind where mine is located. Take a ruler and start on the the very edge of the starboard transom. Measure 12'' and you are in the center of the wood (located at the top of the transom.)

Thanks for the advise! I just recv'd the 2 base supports and the light stanchion from Boston Whaler Dealer and want to get it right the first time! They no longer carry the fuse block so I'll improvise and mount one under/behind the dash console.
