70_Katama	posted 10-16-2001 08:51 PM ET (US)         I'm in the process of removing my console. I'd like to leave the steering wheel and steering unit attached to the console. Looking at the teleflex steering, how does one remove the cable from the unit behind the console? I removed the cotter pin, and tried pull it free to no avail. Thanks Tim

jeffjatich	posted 10-16-2001 10:56 PM ET (US)             The cotter pin needs to be pulled then reinserted into a hole that is in the same general location. This pushes on a tapered washer that is locked onto the steering cable hub. Then turn the wheel and the cable will feed itself from the helm.
