Hello,
Does anyone know a way to add support to a transom on a 1982 13' whaler. There are a few stress cracks which need repairing. Before i repair them, I would like to addd strength to the transom to prevent them from returning. Especially if I repower the boat to a bigger engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Sinclair7,

If the stress cracks are structural, you will most likely need to rebuild your transom. West system has a very good description of what is involved in one of their how-to mini-books.

Attempting to "add strength" is proably not the best approach.
