Installing mechnical fuel gauge in built in fuel tank?

I currently have a electric fuel gauge on my console as the only means of visually monitoring my fuel supply. On newer 22' Outrage's an inspection cover on the deck allows for viewing a mechnical fuel gauge mounted directly in the top of the tank. I have a pristine 1984 with an access plate in this location that would lend it's self to the placement of a fuel gauge with viewing cover on the fuel tank. Is a retrofit kit available? If it's available whats involved in the changeover. Thanks

Russ - a while ago someone gave us the supplier of this hard to find OEM part. Somewhere in TX I think. Go back and see what you can find in the OEM section.

I did this to my Aquasport after seeing the same thing done to a Outrage, walked into the local West Marine and the fuel gage and clear cover were readily available. One of the easiest fixes to boat problems I've seen
