For all you whaler owners who keep their boats in the water, what height above the water line does your anti-fouling paint rise?

Mine is about 1-1/2" above the water line and I constantly have to scrub the scum line from around the hull. Are there any remedies to this, ie a boot stripe, or something else??

If you are in rough water it will do that more. You can raise the paint but then it looks stupid. My paint is about 1/2-1" above. It gets a little scummy but nothing a little Marykates won't cure in 10 seconds.

My paint line is 1" above the water line. I'm in the "quiet" end of the harbor, so it's not much of a problem. I give it a gentle scrub with a gong brush every other week. I do have a 3/4" red tape stripe to set off the blue bottom paint. I like the way it looks.

Bootstripes always look classy. I have toyed with the idea on mine but have not decided yet. Can always peel it off.
