It seems West Marine has had it with Spectrum, they will not take my order for gel coat !!!
Spectrum on line wants $60 just for shipping charges, another $65 for a quart of gel coat. Don't they realize this is available for $15 and can be colored by any glass shop for another $20 ? Or maybe they just make a lot of profit ?

I suggest you check out: Fiberlay http://fiberlay.com/ I have never had anything but a positive experience with their products.

You might want to check with your local Whaler dealer. I just bought a quart of Spectrum's Desert Tan gelcoat for $69.00 plus tax from Meeks Marine.

It seems many retailers are not stocking Spectrum patch kits any longer. They tell me the polyester gel coat has a shelf life of only nine months and they loose too many. I did get some through my local Sea Ray dealer, who also has BW pictures on the wall, but they must order it.
Spectrum replied to my concern about the excessive shipping charges ($23 on a $16, 2oz patch kit) Apparently they have a problem with the web site, so orders must be booked by phone.

Just a suggestion, but I noticed when I gave Spectrum my business' name and address, the price was significantly less (almost half), give it a try.

Spectrum has had a problem with their website
for a couple of years.
