It's official, the old tank had too many years and too many holes to be fixed. I got a price of $280 from Florida Marine Tanks in Miami for a replacement 40 Gallon. According to them they were the original tank builders for Whaler. Only down side is the new tank is possibly three weeks out. Hopefully I can push them into a quicker lead time.

A word to the wise, before foaming your new fuel tank into place, make sure the thing fits !! including the deck plate.

The Vent coming out of the tank is about 3/4" too high causing the deck plate not to lie flat. I am having to get an access hatch to give me the added height.

What a pain in the !@#$%^&*

Sounds like a good example of the old saying that all progress comes at a cost.

I hope you can resolve the clearance problem and end up with a workable solution. Imagine if you were Whaler and had just taken deliver of a hundred of those tanks!

Good luck and keep us posted.
