ContinuousWave: Whaler Repairs/Mods

In considering ways to install a maneuvering/trolling motor in the bow of my OR-18 (1982) it seems to me that a modified version of the bow pulpit would offer a good base for the mount.
Chuck at BW was able to describe the mounting for me but had no diagrams/pictures to download.
Does someone have some good pics that they can Email me? Has someone done this upgrade? Has someone parts to make the rail modification?
Thanks for any help.

JB - Assuming you're asking about the Whaler factory bow pulpit option, I believe it could be done with a little effort. It was not available dealer installed. The bow rail extension is designed to simply be inserted in the regular rail. CMI should be able to furnish this for a jointed bow rail system.
I recommend you find an 18 with the factory pulpit, and use that as your guide. It is made from 1 1/2" teak, actual thickness. The SS edge fittings could be difficult to form, but I believe were made from the readily available SS rubbing strakes found in catalogs.
