In this forum (Repairs/mods), select posts from the previous year. Then, search the web page for "console". There was a thread entitled something like "Plans for Montauk console". It started on 8/9/2001 and had its last post 9/8/2001. One of the members had posted information about getting a copy of the plans from him. If he is still available, I would imagine that he would be glad to help you.

Are you doing the mahogany console and seat or do you plan on doing it in fiberglass like the Montauk?

I was torn between the two,but my grandfather said he would build me the mahogony one.He is an old cabinet maker, and does it to keep himself busy.He said that he will check on the mahogany, but he said that it is difficult to get right now for some reason?Anyone know anything about a mahogany shortage?

FORUM member, Einar, is the industry insider here. Perhaps he can comment. Al?

I can't vouch for a shortage but Willard Brothers in Trenton has is listed on their website. There's toll free number if you are interested in checking out it's price. I've been to Willard Brother's many times for wood and they always seem to have a great selection. If you love wood, you'd love their exotics, paduk, zebra wood, cocobolo, ah...the good old days!!!

Here's the link if you want to check it out.
